Project Brief

This advocacy group brings together the efforts of several humanitarian groups aimed at creating businesses that train free women and produce viable product to sell in international markets. They needed an online space that tells the story through imagery and word, publicizes their craft and products, and also makes a space for donations.

We took on the Free at Last project with full awareness of its tremendous meaning, current and future impacts, and also sensitivity. It was essential to showcase the grace, beauty, and cause while protecting dignity and identity.

We created a website that lets Free at Last tell their powerful story.

Project scope:
Website, Branding, Print

Concept

Website, design concept

The collaboration advocates against human trafficking by providing training and employment for rescued women. Each organization creates a unique product line produced by “free” women sold online and in stores. Through proceeds and charitable donations Free at Last frees women by ensuring they have safe and fulfilling opportunities through business.

Identity

Website

Against the backdrop of this humanitarian cause, our design approach was to display and highlight the beautiful work, as well as the delicate process and variety of textures that were involved in each creation. We used images of the product, the intricate stitching, the lively colors, and the hands that made the product. The vibrant colors and the light streaming into the restorative workplaces captured the essence and beauty we felt best told the story.

Deliverables

The strength of their identity emerged through the website design and then carried over into several deliverables from packaging, to merchandising posters, postcards and product tags.
